ABOUT KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA |
|
| Kelowna
is the largest city in the southern interior of British Columbia,
with a population of approximately 103,000. It is situated in
the incredibly beautiful Okanagan Valley, about 400 kilometers
northeast of Vancouver. Kelowna is a wonderfully fertile area where fruit orchards and
vineyards abound. Unlike many other British Columbia areas,
our city experiences relatively little rainfall and snow. Kelowna's
temperature is mild, allowing us to enjoy wonderful Springs,
hot summer days with cool evenings, mild to warm Autumn weather
and moderate winters. |

 |
The
Okanagan Valley offers about 40 golf courses, including 5 championship
golf courses less than an hour away from Kelowna. |
|
| Many
vineyards dot the landscape in the surrounding areas. Visiting
local vineyards is a pleasure for all, whether to enjoy a little
wine tasting or simply to learn all about the fascinating subject
of making wine. |

Lake
Okanagan extends over 100 kilometers (60 miles) and boasts of
its own "lake monster" known as Ogopogo. The lake
offers Kelowna's inhabitants and visitors alike wonderful opportunities
such as water sports, boating, fishing, or simply enjoy walks
along its shores. |
